"THE LAST BEAT" GOES BOHEMIAN!
We've recently teamed up with Bohemia Group for our next feature film project "The Last Beat." Susan Ferris and Alison Buck, who will produce the film alongside Robert Saitzyk, will also take on the duties of music supervisor and casting director respectively.
Inspired by Jim Morrison's final days, and taking a similar approach as Gus Van Sant's "Last Days, “The Last Beat” revolves around fictional rock star Jay Douglas who has exiled himself to Paris where he hopes to fall into the artist's life as a poet and writer, wishing he could completely erase his former stardom. The rich storyline will be accompanied by an original soundtrack that reaches back into the early 70’s with influences ranging from rock 'n roll to the French Pop of the time.
Shawn Andrews leads the cast as the troubled Jay Douglas, whose screen credits include the award winning “Fix” opposite Olivia Wilde, “Dazed and Confused,” and Matt Dillon's “City of Ghosts." The very beautiful and talented Cameron Richardson is also attached as Valerie, Jay's long term girlfriend. An earthy redhead from sunny California, she's Jay's only real home, and the one person who knows that he's deep down inside less a rock star, but a true poet. Cameron's selected credits include studio films, eclectic independents, and network television, including the Almodóvar inspired "Women in Trouble" alongside Adrianne Palicki and Carla Gugino, and as Chloe Carter in CBS' "Harper's Island." Also attached in supporting roles are Oscar-nominated actor Seymour Cassel, Kevin Corrigan, and musical icon Cyndi Lauper.
Stay tuned for more cast and production info!

CineVegas goes on hiatus for next year's festival
This is very sad, disappointing news. CineVegas represents an important stop for edgier independent fare that many times is not recognized by other festivals. Our film GODSPEED benefiting greatly from the well-run, and well-publicized festival. We'll keep watching for more news with the hope that the festival will return as strong as ever.
